Do you have backups of your files?

If so, then you could reset Windows, and restore your files from your backups.

If you like, you can reset Windows without removing the hard drive.

Correct. You will setup a new administrator account during the reset.

You can do Option 1 or 2 in the Reset tutorial I posted above without disconnecting your drive.

Correct. Resetting Windows 10 will only affect the Windows partition.

To be extra safe, I would always recommend to backup anything that you don't want to lose to a separate hard disk though.
