    Reset password disk

I found this amongst my emails this morning and am tempted to use it the only query I have is that as I have multiple machines would I need a separate stick for all of them or could the same stick be used on the other machine as long a I have the password used for each machine on this stick??
It certainly would be handier than having to ask for passwords to be reset all the time via those irritating email methods. .

Most om machine use the same password anyway as usually I have to sign in with my Microsoft account.

A password reset disk only works on the same computer and the same account which created it. The disk doesn't store passwords but makes it possible to create a new one.

The password reset disk only works for local accounts. I actually have a couple on cheap low capacity sd cards I had lying around, which I insert in a usb sd card reader. Take up a lot less space than flash drives (or dvds).

Hmm good idea cerebus as one of the reasons I don't like sticks is that they can get cluttered and it is impossible to get the 2GB ones anymore.

Anyway I have had a biuit of a wake up call re this and I use Google Keep which I use my own form of encryption on even though they say the data is encrypted by them so if it gets cracked they still have to get past mine

If you have multiple device password resets, put them all on one stick (they're very tiny files, 2 kb) and just name them, so that you know which computer it was created on. Lot easier and cheaper than using up a CD for such little files.

Ok well if that is the case then it sounds go the Keep is still good for this because it flashes across multiple devices which I find handy and not just for passwords but ok will try that.
