    Suspended Account

Goodday to all you windows 10 gurus:

I am attempting to remove the suspension on my Microsoft Account. MS has informed me that they will text me a code to remove the suspension. The problem is that I'm a 76 year old dinosaur who has a land line phone that doesn't receive text messages. I've tried very automated link to support service to remedy the situation with no luck. Do any of you good folks have a support link where I can contact MS to get this resolved?

Thanking you all for any responses in advance and looking forward to your responses.

    Hi Powell Lucas.

    Try this link.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/17875

Assuming you get in I would then proceed to open a gmail account. Its only use will be for these codes. Set it up so that the alternate email address for your gmail account is your microsoft account.

In your Microsoft account enter into the security info section and update it with your gmail address.

Going forward if you have a problem with either account the "code" will be sent to the alternate.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ken. However, I still can't get in.

Something similar happened to me. I set up a computer for a family member and when logging in on a secondary MS acct for support purposes, I incorrectly typed my password and was then asked to enter a code texted to a last 4 nos. that I didn't realize was a 2nd phone that I used for 2-step verification. So when I said that wasn't my backup number, the acct was auto-locked for 30 days, nothing to do but wait. At least the family member had a Local Account and was able to use the device until I was re-instated, whereupon I was able to sign-in and verify my 2nd step in the verification process.
If you used your land line as the 2nd step, I'm afraid, you're, likewise, locked out until the 30 day period is over. By then, either get a secondary email acct, as suggested, or a burner phone that takes texts so you're VERY clear as to what your 2nd verification option is. This is a case where having a Local Acct with admin privileges would be invaluable. Good Luck with your efforts.

Sorry Lucas. What do you mean you still can't get in other than the literal translation.

You followed the process and weren't able to give MS enough information to prove it is your account or you can get to the point where they ask for info?
