Locked out of admin account in windows 10

This is a very old PC (7-8 years old) and I've re-installed windows multiple times over the years. At some point, possibly when I installed windows 10 for the first time or maybe windows 7 before that I might have installed it in a new user rather then my admin account. I don't remember the reason why exactly as it's been a long time but it's possible I wanted to use a different e-mail and use my real name as the account user name (I believe we can change that easily without making a new user, but I probably didn't know this at the time). I naturally started using the new user rather then the admin until I eventually had issues come up with admin permissions (windows firewall and other stuff). When I tried to fix it by logging in on the admin account, my password wasn't working. Unfortunately I don't remember what e-mail or account name I used, right now it only says "administrator". I'm sure I have access to whatever e-mail was used. I've tried many of my passwords but none seem to work. This is a desktop PC. When I try to log in it says I must reset my password first:

    Administrator:
    current password
    new password
    confirm new password

Three days ago you had approximately 8 days of life left on your hard drive. Is this the same system? Because it will continue to go downhill until you replace the drive.

If you have not replaced it yet, then any problems you have with the system can be attributed to your failed drive, and you need to replace it before you can fix anything.
