OK I'm in. How do I format the C: drive before installing Windows 10?

I can now boot off the DVD drive. I have got as far as Troubleshoot.
What is your Install Media? And where did you get it?

Troubleshot should get you the reset advanced menu etc. It sounds like you booted from your SSD to the Boot Options menu?

I created the DVD on a Windows 7 PC, using Windows Media Center.
It's on an external USB DVD drive.
How do I format the drive (it's a SSD drive).

No I'm thinking it booted from the Windows DVD that I created. It certainly sounded like that's what happened.

If you did, I believe this is the first screen you should have seen.

Actually I think the first screen you see says "Install now", with a Repair your computer option in the lower left corner. I'm guessing he clicked the repair option instead of the install option.

Do I have to use a memory stick or can I use my DVD that I created with MediaCreationTool.
My problem is that although I have a flash drive this Windows 7 PC is not recognising it within MediaCreationTool (even though I can copy files off it)...

Actually, the second. Steps #5 & #6 from the tut. But you're right...if he clicked REPAIR here, that's where he went....
