Unable to turn off Secure Sign-in

I've been running Windows 10 at home for about a year now. From the beginning I've set it to go into sleep mode if left unattended for more than 20 minutes. When I come back I just click the mouse or hit the space bar and it wakes up and the sign-in window appears. Since the last Microsoft update on 14th Jan the sign-in window no longer appears. I have to press ctrl-alt-del to get the sign-in window.

On this forum a tutorial says that I need to disable the Secure Sign-in feature. I entered netplwiz in the run (win-R) window. The user accounts window came up but the "Require users to press ctrl-alt-del" checkbox is already unchecked.

What am I doing wrong? Is there some other setting that I need to change so that I don't have to keep pressing the ctrl-al-del buttons?

Hello Andy, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You might check using the other options in the tutorial below to see if you may have secure sign-in enabled in one of them instead.

    Hi Brink,

Thanks for that. That's the tutorial I was referring to, tried everything on there and its all clear. My problem seems to only happen when coming out of sleep mode, which is a different problem so I've raised another thread.

    Cheers,
