Login window won't appear after sleep

    Hey guys!
I think this may have happened after the last update, but now whenever my laptop wakes up from sleep I'm stuck.

it wakes up to the splash screen and it lets me use all the buttons, it does show (WiFi, power menu, accessability options) but it won't show me the logon field. I tried opening task manager, windows+R, but nothing works.

I've tried disabling the need for a password in the hopes it'll just let me skip past the whole screen, but it won't!

    Please help!

    Thank you in advance,

    Robin

EDIT: I took a video of the issue: Surface windows 10 sleep no login - YouTube
    sorry for the length.

I have the same problem, can't find a solution anywhere. BUT... after the boot screen comes up, and the password field does not appear after pressing a key, I go to the bottom right and click on RESTART (not Sleep or Shut Down), it restarts and voilá, I get a password field to login. It is still annoying since it is a two step process to get into windows, but at least I'm able to work, hopefully MS finds a way to fix this soon.

yeah, I've added a video in which I show that the buttons on that screen work, and after rebooting everything is normal.
I think I started having this problem since after the last update, what about you?

For me it started three updates ago, I always keep hoping the next update will fix it, but no. The last update was Friday, and the login worked after reboot, but happiness was short lived, the next shut-down/reboot had the same problem... only when I go to REBOOT instead of SHUT-DOWN I get access to the computer. Interestingly enough, I don't have that problem on my notebook (a 1 year old Lenovo) and my office PC (a 4 year old AMD DIY PC that I assembled), both running the same version of Win10-64.

I'm having the exact same problem..

And there are no fixes for this - only by reinstalling windows.. And microsoft seems doesn't care about this problem, they haven't put out any quick fixes or anything like that..

Note: like I mentioned before, after I press any key and the screen just turns a bit darker and no login box shows up, I get four icons at the lower left, one is "power:"", if I click on it and sellect RESTART it will reboot and then I manage to login. One comment in this forum mentioned that he/she does NOT get that icon, so the solution is useless. BUT.. I also noticed that if I press the hardware reset button on my computer the effect is the same as RESTART... it will allow me to login. The impression I have is that a COLD BOOT (after power up) puts the OS in this lock state, but a WARM BOOT does not ... very awkward!

    Exactly this problem.

So I'm not the only one...

I have been researching this issue for almost 2 months now, there are a lot of people with that same problem.... I guess I must be grateful that I can login after the boot/restart double process, I heard that some people are totally locked out, even after RESTART... this is a major disaster, MS should jump in and try to fix this bug.

This problem may be somehow related to the Lock Screen App. Has anybody tried to disabled it ?

I did an in-place upgrade of windows 10 and it made things even worse. Explorer is crashing when I navigate to "open with" submenu...

How can this happen if in-place upgrade "repairs everything"...... ?

Also after in-place upgrade PC settings categories - Personalize and Accounts doesn't work anymore....
