    Cannot Switch/Create Accounts

Please move this to the correct forum if this thread is not in the correct area.
    This is from the start,
I upgraded to windows 10.Made a microsoft account and used that to login. Then one day it said that my profile is corrupted.I used another admin account I made to use the computer. Now the previous account was from windows 7 and only its profile got corrupted.I could access my data fine.Another thing is that whatever update I install, it fails to install and it takes a long time to start the computer after it fails updates. This was happening with every update and everyday so I turned on metered connection to delay the updates.
The thing is that I want to use my microsoft account so it appears in store app so I can download apps from there.
Problem is what ever I do, The Accounts tab in settings keeps loading on the "Your email and accounts" and I keep clicking on the "Add someone else to this pc" and nothing happens.
I have contacted microsoft chat support and the people who helped me just used the "netplwiz" and created accounts which I already did.
The problem is that the accounts don't appear at switch user on the start up or anywhere else.

Each session I have had with them, they end by clean boots and my problem still isn't fixed.
I tried some registry edits which people said you could hide/display other users.None of them work for me.

I am using Windows 10 Home Premium.
Also if you guys need some screenshots I can gladly provide some.

    Please help me fix this.

Hello Faraz, sorry for the delay. Could you tell me which Build and version you have installed. If you don't know, you can hold the Windows key down and press the R key to get the run box. Type winver in the run box and click OK. This is the latest version and the screen you should see. If your email address or any other personal info is showing, please block that out.

It may also be a good idea to back up all of your personal data to an external source and do a system image with whatever imaging program you prefer. Most people on this forum like Macrium Reflect for imaging. An image will give you a way to restore what you have now, in case something goes wrong during the repair process.

Please fill out your System Specs

If you can, would you also try to right click on the start icon and select Command prompt administrator, give admin permissions and copy/paste this into the window that opens and press enter sfc /scannow . If you decide to type it in, please notice the space between the sfc and the /. We want it to say no integrity violations were found. If it says there where corrupt files that could not be repaired, please reboot and run it again. You may have to run it 3 times with reboots in between each time.

Have you tried to Right Click the start flag and click the power button and select sign out? When you come back to the sign in screen, you should be able to select which account you sign into from the bottom left corner of the screen.

I haven't tried the solution you mentioned here just because I kinda fixed it on my own with just experimenting. Now I have a microsoft account which I can use in store and other apps.
The fix I tried was this: I opened store app, in which I wasn't logged in. Then I opened browser and went to windows 10 store from there. Then I signed in from browser(since that was working) and tried to download an app I wanted, this opened the windows store once again and this time a dialogue appeared asking to choose an account to sign in to store. Now after filling in stuff, I was able to access the store and download the app I wanted. While trying this all, I also used a command in powershell but in the end it came up with too many errors so I don't think that actually worked. But now the accounts problem is gone and I can use store nice and easily.

Does everything else work right or do you still have corruption in the system? If you still have corruption and can't download updates, I would suggest repairing everything. If you don't you will always have problems, aand some of the security updates really are necessary to close security vulnerabilities.

I would also suggest you doing regular backups and Images. That is very important and can save you a lot of problems. They have certainly saved me on many occasions.

Try this, right click the windows start flag and select command prompt (Administrator), run this command

Dism. exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup and press enter. Just let it run and it will give you a success or failure message Next run Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and press enter. Same with it, it looks like it is doing nothing but it is.

After those have completed successfully, try running the sfc /scannow which is a system file checker and will attempt to repair missing or corrupted files. You may need to run it 3 times with reboots in between each time. We want it to say no integrity violations were found.

No integrity violations were found when I ran sfc. After talking to a Microsoft person, he suggested I upgrade windows 10 using media creation tool. I have two drives on my pc. One has pictures etc and other one is the windows drive. If I upgrade, will I keep my programs that I installed? I kept my programs when I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10.So will I keep my software which is on the windows drive when I upgrade windows 10 to windows 10(from one version to another).

I would recommend you do a System image of your Drive before doing anything, just in case. However, it should not affect most software you have installed and none of your personal files. However, just in case is always a good policy. Things don't always work as they should.
I would suggest a Repair Install. Which will fix most problems.

If everything works in the new Microsoft account you have working, you can copy your data from the corrupted account to the new account and then delete the corrupted account without any repair install or upgrade.

Can I repair/refresh windows using the iso file? or will I need a product key for that?I don't have product key for windows 10 as I upgraded from windows 7. downloading through the media creation tool is really slow for me.
