Windows 10: Cannot access user folder in start menu when I move it
Cannot access user folder in start menu when I move it
In windows 10 1607 user folders can be displayed in the left side of the start menu. I moved my user folder to drive d from C:\Users\yham47\Documents to D:\Users\yham47\Documents to have a different location for my files.
The problem is when I use the Documents button on the start menu or any button like Music, Videos, etc, windows 10 then ask me to search/browse for that folder which is annoying.
Is there a way to correct it?
hello and welcome to tenforums ,I have never done this myself ,but there is a tutorial here on win10 that should help you ,good luck .
scroll down to method 2
Additionally you can check the locations on the shortcuts here:
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu Places and update the location from C to D if they are incorrect.

Logging in as userA I can access the shared folder on PC1. But as userB I cannot.
Both users have the same user groups:...
 I found a Windows 10 Forums article online about how to move the Users profile folder to an external drive, but it was not something easily understood by a not-too-techie user.
If there are some easy to follow step-by-step instructions...
I'm not sure if this has been posted before, as I did a search and couldn't find anything, but I might be phrasing it oddly. Anyway, does anyone know if there is a way to allow folder access through the start menu in Windows 10? By folder...
