Reset user folder rights after using system disk as external drive ?

    Hello,

I took my SSD off my tower and took it as external drive during my holidays.

I had to access my own files from another Windows 10 machine.

When browsing to my user folder, I was asked to take ownership of the folder to access files (so easy!). I knew it was risky but I had to access those files.

Back to my tower, I could log on but many things weren't OK : no wallpaper, no search, Firefox and Thunderbird would not load profiles...

I could take ownership back browsing APPDATA and other subfolders but many problems still remains.

I suppose it should be as simple taking ownership back as it was answering "YES" on the other machine but how?

    Many thanks.

I'm about to do a "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" on my user folder but AFAIR this takes a long time whereas it took no time to take control of the folder of the other machine so is it really the same kind of operation ?

Tried tools to reset permissions (Reset Files Permissions & Windows Repair) with no luck.
Made a new profile and copied my old one into it : better for some part, worse for many others.
So I'll make a fresh install or reset this one...
