    Phantom local account

I'm trying to setup winows 10 media PC with just a local account an no password required during login
However, whenever the "no password" option is set on netplswiz two users with the same local account show up in the startup screen. You then need to select one to get in.

this was a problem back in windows 8.1 and doesnt' seem to have been resolved.

Solved Phantom shows up at startup

Is there now a workr around?

    Hello Erick, :)

When you setup netplwiz to have Windows automatically sign in to the local account at startup, did you leave the password fields empty since the account doesn't have a password?

OK so I think its resolved. Even with a local account my hotmail account still kept showing up on certain settings winows. Maybe I was still logged.

Any way created a new local account called Admin which was a member of the machines Administrator's group.

When viewed through the accounts window it did not have the same values. The first account was just a member of the Administrators group. But Admin belonged to the Administrators and Users group. I'm thinking the first profile was somehow corrupt.

I set up Admin as the account to login without a password and rebooted.

The PC booted straight into Admin as if the first local account never existed. Have yet to decide about removing the first local account now it all works

I'm glad to hear that it seems to be sorted.
