    Thank you - that fix seems to have worked now - though when I first tried it, it didn't immediately re-create the credential. I needed to click on some app that required it and was then asked to re-enter password. But it is back now and hopefully the message will no longer appear. Maybe it was because I have an automatic sign in to the computer.

    You're most welcome.

    Automatic sign-in shouldn't affect this. Instead, this usually happens if you change your Microsoft account credentials (ex: password or primary alias).

What is windows 10 looking for when it asks this? I click on the notification and it doesn't bring me to a password box. Is this some sort of bug? It happens to me on multiple computers.
