    Windows 10 password issue

I had windows 7 professional on my custom build PC. When I turned the computer on, I had two accounts. Admin and my personal local account. Neither of them had a password.

-I recently updated to windows 10 through the Windows update. The installation went through fine.
I go to use my computer and now there is a password. I never entered a password for this installation. I also never entered a Microsoft account.

-Now when I turn my computer on, I get the big circle with a head and shoulders stick figure guy, my name, and a password field.

-The problem is..., I do not have, and never did have, a password.

-The system also asks for a password to revert back to the original build, so I cant even go back to windows 7.

    microsoft just says im screwed

Hello whitetaco, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

What happens when you sign in to Windows leaving the password field empty?

If you are still able to sign in, then you could use the tutorials below to have Windows automatically sign you in at startup, and not require a password on wakeup.

I cant sign into windows at all. If I leave the field blank, it says its incorrect. If I enter any password, its incorrect.

Just to verify, does your account show an email address under it? If so, it's a Microsoft account.

If it is a local account instead, then you may need to reinstall Windows.
