How to auto login windows 10 if i use Microsoft account?

I use "netplwiz" to set auto login feature. But i found that if i use local account, it works well, but if i use Microsoft account to log in windows 10, it will still ask me for passwords when waking up from sleeping mode or power on.

Hello demonguy, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Using netplwiz works with a Microsoft account as well. Double check using the tutorial below to see if it may help.

I did it, both from netplwiz and power options.
But it still ask me for password.
Here is something strange and i don't know if it helps. I first log into windows by create a local account, and then log into Microsoft from "Settings". But "netplwiz" only show my Microsoft account, when i uncheck the box, The popup windows asks me for my local account password.

It sounds like netplwiz was originally set for your local account, and never updated when you switched to a Microsoft account.

As a test, check the box, and click/tap on OK. Afterwards, select your MS account, uncheck the box, and click/tap on OK.

No matter i check or uncheck the box, netplwiz only show my MS email account
Control Panel "User and accounts" also only shows my MS Account

Yep. The idea is to turn off, apply, and turn on to setup netplwiz where you enter your password again.

I didn't solve this by your suggestion. However, i reinstalled windows10, and log in with Microsoft account from start. Then netplwiz works well.

I found a interesting phenomenon. After unchecking the box of netplwiz, and type a wrong password, netplwiz will also exit with no error. Does it mean netplwiz only sotres the password i input and use this for logging in?

I have two hypothesises about netplwiz.
    1. auto login feature is a kernel feature, netplwiz just call this feature, the password you need to input after unchecking the box is just for authentication of current user.
    2. auto login feature is provided at userspace by netplwiz. the password you need to input after unchecking the box is stored somewhere and netplwiz will use this password to log in windows

At first i think first one is correct, but now it seems that second is correct, am i right?

That's correct. Netplwiz doesn't check if the password is correct, and uses whatever you enter.

If you make a mistake and enter the password incorrectly, then usually you can start over in netplwiz to correct it.
