method to sign out of all user profiles in one click

Currently have multiple user profiles and have to log into each one and sign out before shutting the PC down.

could a batch file be created to sign out of all user profiles from any or one particular one...?

    thanks

    Hello reddwarf, :)

When you shut down the computer, it will automatically sign out all users, but will prompt you to confirm first when other users are still signed in.

If you like, you could create a shortcut using the command below from OPTION EIGHT in the tutorial below to force a full immediate shut down.

    shutdown /s /f /t 0

so when I go to shut down and get reminded other users are signs in, and I accept the shutdown will, user data be lost....I think some programs were pinned by a user and the changes were lost, does this make sense

If they have anything open that wasn't saved, it will be lost.

No. When you pin a program to the taskbar that change is saved.

You will lose changes to documents that haven't been saved and settings changes you haven't saved (anywhere there is an "Apply" button).

Edge will open with the same pages as when you signed them off, IE will not - I'm not sure about other browsers.

You can also sign off users through the "Users" tab on task manager if you want.

Task manager seems a good way, will have a look.

PS the copy all folders to new profile except three DAT files is in Microsoft guide for fixing corrupt user profiles.

will see what happens after the copy, if installed apps show in programs menu and all else is stable will continue with other folders, if not will restore from acronis image again and start user profile from scratch, or do Windows install cleanup, or do a clean install.....

thanks for for all your help
