This is rather beside the point, we shouldn't have to take ownership of a thing in order to have the permissions we're supposed to. This problem lies with when you install windows 10. I have had to reinstall windows 10 Pro on two occasions now due to a hard drive dying & having no backup, it is the third time in total I have installed windows 10 as I had home first. This issue stems from one of the options it gives you, not quite sure on the wording but this last time I chose the wrong one & now have to give admin permission every time I delete anything, it is so annoying.

Hello AstralSpirit, and welcome to Ten Forums.

If you like, you could see if resetting the permissions back to default for the item you changed may help.

One reason for this is, while you are a member of the Administrators Group, you are not "the" administrator. The only account not subject to UAC prompts is the system administrator account, and its not a good idea to use that account as your daily user. Its there to bail you out when you mess up your normal administrator account.

The first user account setup during a Windows install is an administrator account. Unless you tell it otherwise. There has to be, or at least should be, one administrator account. Any other accounts setup will I believe default to standard user accounts, that have even more restrictions.
