    Administrator - Elevated Command Prompt

    Windows 10 / PC -

    - At the usual command prompt, this message:

    - "This command required administrative privileges and must be executed from an elevated command prompt.

    - I am the sole user of this PC and already have administration privileges.

    - Why does the command prompt not already recognize that?

    - So how do I get to the elevated command prompt?

    Thank you / appreciated.

That doesn't mean that anything at all can run without your permission. See:

What Does "Run as Administrator" Mean in Windows 10?

    See:
Open Elevated Command Prompt in Windows 10

    Also read:

    Skip UAC Prompt v1.0

If you think that it's okay to perform any operation at all without any intervention or prompt or elevation of privileges then I suggest that you don't start elevating everything especially anything internet facing/ internet connected.

    I agree with Callender.

All users are initially logged in with Standard privileges.
For your Admin user account to exercise your Admin privileges, you need to click on the Yes button that will appear in an Admin prompt / UAC prompt*** when you do certain tasks such as opening an elevated comment prompt.

Those Admin privileges apply only to the job that is approved in that dialog [click on Show more details] and not to other things that you might happen to be doing at the same time and the Admin privileges expire when that job ends.
So, for example, everything you do in that elevated command prompt runs with Admin privileges.
There is an exception to this rule within Settings, Networks. Only an Admin user can choose to set a network connection as "metered" but no Admin prompt / UAC prompt appears. A standard user merely does not get shown the option to make that setting. There might be other exceptions I have not come across.

*** We all routinely call this an Admin prompt or UAC prompt

    Welcome to TenForums.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]
