    Windows Microsoft Account Sign-In

Every so often, I see a small orange dot above my icon on the Start Menu. When I click on my icon, I see a message asking me to sign into my Microsoft account.

I always select "Remind me later". But is there a way to stop this message from EVER popping up ?

Either login or change to local account?

I sometimes see that message on my machine at work. (with a local account)

I never see it on my machine at home. (Also a local account)

I don't know the reason for the difference. Research suggests:

Go to start > settings > system > notifications
Turn off the "Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows".

I have a local account and ever since I turned OFF this new Setting - "Show Account-related notifications", I've not seen the orange nag dot.

new switch button appeared in Settings

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

    1. The majority of the time I use my Local Standard Account & I very seldom use my Local Administrator Account.
    2. In both accounts, I've double-checked Settings>System>Notifications & Action, all 3 below are turned off:

    * Show me the Windows welcome experience after updates & occasionally when I sign in to highlight what's new & suggested
    * Suggest ways I can finish setting up my device to get the most out of Windows
    * Get tips, tricks and suggestions as you use Windows

Right now, the small orange dot & message are not shown. Hopefully it will stay that way.
