Changing admin account and completely removing original?

I'm setting up a laptop for my nephew. Ultimately we want my sister, his mom, to have the full admin privileges, to do parental controls, and all of that stuff.

But to install it directly in her account I'd need her password. She isn't here to type it in, she'd have to tell it to me, and that's not ideal.

I could install it under my account, but I'm going to install a ton of software on his computer, and if we make a new user account, and make that the admin instead, I'd like to completely remove my original account, and have all of the software I installed work perfectly well in the other 2 accounts. I'm skeptical it would work out so easily. Perhaps I'm wrong? Or is there another solution?

If you really need to you could create a local admin account (not a MS account) with whatever password you wish, then she could change the password, and change the account from local to a MS account, assuming that's what you're referring to.

    Tutorials available.

You wouldn't need to have your login details on the PC at all.

That's assuming she could cope with making those changes.

N.B. I strongly recommend you use 3rd party disk imaging perioidically as you install and configure from the outset, so if something goes wrong you don't lose much work. Then you can introduce them to doing that, and if something goes wrong, recovery can be relatively painless. Especially valuable if younger people are either
    - engaged in vital studies
    or
    - may fiddle and break things

Requires e.g. safely stored USB disk for image files + free or paid program.

Interesting, I'll see if I can do that, thanks! It didn't really seem like that was an option as I was going through installation, but I'll look into it.
