    Locked out of Windows 10

I was trying to get a network location to work and from the command line I did "net stop" and the "net start" and rebooted my computer. Now I can't log in as it doesn't recognize my password or pin. I get the error "Your password was changed on a different device. You must sign in to this device once with your new password, an then you can sign in with your PIN." I hope someone can help.

    Hello @Sxcd1,

Rather than Reboot, Shutdown, leave it a minute or two, and then Reboot.

Hi, it's worth researching that error message on the internet.
Not one I've seen personally or seen reported here in the threads I've looked at.

Here are some results I found for you:
    Good background explanation:
Your password was changed on a different device [Fixed]

Hope 1 of those (or another if you search) may help.

I used the info in this link Enable or Disable Elevated Administrator account in Windows 10
Created an admin user and login. Then reset the password on my account. Logged out and in with my user and all is good. I then when into the lusrmgr.msc and disabled the administrator user I created. Hope this helps someone. Thanks.

We are well aware of that option when locked out of your accounts or no admin account is available.

It didn't immediately seem appropriate given what you described.

I hope the links I posted were of interest. Thank you.
