Thanks for your valued input. I visited the site you mention, but all the comments indicate I need to be an administrator, but as mentioned in the previous post, I cannot get passed the Admin password....because there isn't one!!!! Any suggestions about where I go from here please? Please note I did follow all the steps indicated by the site, but as I cannot get past the password I am flummoxed!!! Very frustrated at the moment.

In which case you will need to download the media creation tool from another computer and create a DVD or bootable USB from it before you can proceed.

Thank you for info and the link, had a restless night worrying about the problem, so first thing this morning decided to give it one more try before downloading the tool. Tried to contact my microsoft account by typing the new email address for admin; the one with no password, but I also ticked the box saying can't remember my password. Windows asked me to confirm that this was my email address, I confirmed that it was and was directed to access my email address where I would find a 7 fig number that I should copy into the blank password location on the admin sign in. Windows then opened a window requesting I type a new password in. In doing so, I am now the new administrator!! Top Job! I am now taking your advice and creating a reset usb drive .Once again many thanks
