If you login with a Microsoft Account (ie) Email address, then that account is your User Name and you would need to type in your Password for that account. It hasn't changed. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...2-b04d60556c37
If you login with a Local Account, (ie) a profile name you created you can create the profile with no Password.
If you have forgotten your Microsoft Account Password, on an internet device (ie) Smart Phone, Tablet, other computer etc, go to Outlook – free personal email and calendar from Microsoft. And try to login with your Email address and the last password you remember, if that fails, you can press the Forgot Password button and it will give you your security questions, or send you a code by phone or Email to reset your password.

If you login with a Local Account and it asks for a password, leave it blank and press Enter.

Hi, your post is somewhat unclear.

Before this update, did your laptop boot normally?

I did not see the screen for the email password when the latest update was downloaded
What were you doing, exactly, when you were expecting to be prompted for a password?

I have never seen any prompt for a password related to routine Windows updates, so I'm unsure why you were expecting one.

When you installed Windows, did you do so without specifying a password? Or have you forgotten it?
    How were you logging in?

my Laptop does not boot normally, it boots into advanced repair mode
Assuming that it did previously boot correctly, the first thing would be to check your disk.

So, once again, your options are:
    a. remove disk, place in USB caddy, test on another PC
    or
    b. create a live boot disk on another PC, boot your laptop from that and then check your disk.

Suitable basic program: Crystal Dsikinfo (free) - portable version available- often included on live boot disks such as Hiren's, Bob Omb's...

Please complete specs for your laptop- click My computers below my post for example- tutorials available if needed. Thanks.

The PC booted normal after update
Login 1 account with 4 digit pin
After reboot from update the Blue screen "let's configure youre PC" or something to that effect appears.
want to change youre browser some more options etc.
1 of the pages said something about securing windows or make suure you are the owner, I am not sure of the wording, that is where I was spposed to enter the Password, BUT I did not. (ALL this (password thing) I noticed when I sed another HDD with an older version and it upgraded)
Everything thing worked OK on the Laptop then I made some changes ( Fiddled ) after wich it only booted into the advanced menu.
I know that there is a system restore but when I wanted to use it it asked for the Password This is something new I have sed the advanced tools before and never had this.
Selecting "SYSTEM RESTORE keeping all the Files"" has got the same result ie enter password.
    Thanks again for youre Time

Login 1 account with 4 digit pin
There must be a password for you to have a PIN. Using a PIN does not make the password redundant.

There are circumstances in which you will be prompted for a password- and System Restore is one of them- when Windows is not running. That is not new.

Perhaps the new circumstance to you is that you are trying to access SR having booted to Advanced Startup options.

I am not sure of the wording, that is where I was spposed to enter the Password, BUT I did not. (ALL this (password thing) I noticed when I sed another HDD with an older version and it upgraded)
    - so you swapped the disk in the laptop?

All those show is that your PC is booting to Advanced Repair and you've then have chosen to reset your Windows installation- but you can't as you've forgotten or don't have the password.

Note that if you chose 'Advanced Options' you would have different options available.

N.B. - you've posted your email address- never a good idea....(!)

    Again:
    - I recommended you check your disk - have you?

-I asked if you had swapped your disk- which part of one post suggested you had.

Do you have a disk image you created recently you could restore?

    Thanks.

    That is Correct

Note that if you chose 'Advanced Options' you would have different options available.

All have the same thing Including "Command promt"

    Again:
    - I recommended you check your disk - have you?
    Yes the system ran Chkdsk
-I asked if you had swapped your disk- which part of one post suggested you had.
I used an HDD with an OLDER ver of WIN10 Loaded. After the update, PC rebooted and I was asked some personal prefrences like browser choice. THEN I was asked is this my email enter password etc. That is when I realized that I missed that on the original HDD.
Do you have a disk image you created recently you could restore?
The restore point is on the the HDD asking for a Password.
Also I have tried a BOOTABLE USB there is no way further with what I know. Also this is not my first recovery.

Maybe I should say what caused the error.
    1) Pressed win R
    msconfig
    Boot
    advanced options
    then selected maximum memmory.
    Restarted
    It never booted normal again.

    Thanks again for yore efforts

    Thanks

    Yes the system ran Chkdsk
Alas that's not what I suggested. Use a 3rd party program to do a SMART parameter check. That's the WHOLE physial disk status, not the integrity of the file system on C: alone.

Do you have a disk image you created recently you could restore?
I'll assume that's 'no' as it's nothing to do with System Restore- completely different. Much more robust and complete- with a disk image of your Windows partitions you could recreate your installation as was on a new disk, for example, if you wished.

Is your boot problem ONLY with the original disk or ONLY with the HDD you used second - or with both?

** Considering your MAX MEMORY setting - please see
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...9-280e243f972a

Note that refers to System Restore- which you can't use.
But also see the bcedit option.
Offhand I don't know if you'll run into a password issue with that too though.

I did not set a the email password when asked by the latest Win10 upda

    Hi
Is your boot problem ONLY with the original disk or ONLY with the HDD you used second - or with both?
Only original HDD. the other HDD I am using right now to commnicate with you.
I think I caused the problem with my adjustment.

I'll assume that's 'no' as it's nothign to do with System Restore- completely different.
Even if I had one I would still need to get passed the password question. Like I said nothing related to change or access is possible without that password, including C:\

    Thanks
