How do I reset the password if I have auto login enabled?

I'm trying to reset my local account password but I don't know the old password and I have auto login enabled, so it goes booting right past the log in screen straight into Windows, without giving me the option to change it.

What is the workaround for this?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Once signed in, you could use option two below to reset the password without having to know it.

Step 1 - Disable the auto-login using Option 1 of Sign in User Account Automatically - TenForumsTutorials [and note its cross-reference to Enable or Disable Passwordless Sign-in - TenForumsTutorials if NetPlWiz does not display the necessary checkbox]
Step 2 - As Brink says use Option 2 of Reset Password of User Account - TenForumsTutorials
Step 3 - Re-setup the auto-login using the same tutorials as Step 1.

    All the best,
    Denis
