And just to highlight one element from the tutorial for clean installing Win 10... around step 13/14 you delete all partitions of which the existing O/S on the disk is comprised

i.e. Win 10 is installed to unallocated space on the disk, and creates its own partitions.
Thank you i will have this printed i am unfamiliar with Ms licensing policies
Drive D; SSD is configured as paging but on clean install should be boot Windows drive lets wait and see how to get that done
and manage how to do a complete data backup (inclusive of Thunderbird mails browser address book browser etc)

Personally, I would disconnect drive D: until after the clean install has completed... but that's just me.

IMO it's pointless having a paging file create unnecessary wear on an SSD if another SSD is going to be used for the constantly changing OS volume due to creation/deletion of temporary files in day-to-day operation.

Ensure your install is to 1 and only one drive.

and manage how to do a complete data backup (inclusive of Thunderbird mails browser address book browser etc)
    - depends what you need this for.

For example, a disk image (compressed copy of imaged partitions) created e.g. with Macrium Reflect (free/paid) backs up every single thing on the imaged partition.

Image files can be mounted and then explored in the usual way.

Thunderbird profiles can be backed up in various ways. E.g.
Export your Thunderbird Profile | Thunderbird Help
Profiles - Where Thunderbird stores your messages and other user data | Thunderbird Help

    - and there's at least 1 3rd party tool (free).

    ok machine pemanently licensed
Macrium Reflect seems similar diskcopy Unix
so i start with backup on external drive that is most important the clean install procedure...well confusing and also cumbersome
