How to log in without passwords

Where it says "Require Windows hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts", the option is greyed out.

When I start up pc, I always have to type in password.

Only have an admin account that's it.

How do I remove password so it goes straight to Windows desktop?

That option is greyed out for the reason that it states: You first need to setup Windows Hello in order to be able to change that setting. In your case, the available Windows Hello options are to use a PIN or a physical security key.

However, it does not sound like that is what you are after. It sounds like you want autologin.

There is more than one way to setup Autologin, but my favorite way is to download and run the Microsoft Sysinternals Autologin utility which you can find here:

The huge Tutorials section (mostly written by * Brink * !) is searchable. Do feel free to have a look...

Note that in some more obscure cases removing the requirement for a password has seemed to cause issues- not for normal operation.

That .exe worked a treat! So easy to do for anyone and takes you straight to your desktop. Thank you so much!

How do you decrypt if you want to set password? Is it as easy as one clicking on a file?

Hi, It's been a while since I wanted to get to my computer's desktop without entering a password every time. The exe file helped doing that.

I have another question: If I create a guest account (I might need some instructions for that), how will the operating system work? Currently, it takes me to my account screen, but what will happen with a guest account?

    Hello,

Nothing will change by adding a guest or any account on the computer. You'll just need to use Switch User below or sign out when you want to sign in to an account other than yours.

    Hi

Right now, I don't have a guest account on Windows 10. It's a bit different from Windows 7 because in 7, you could easily make a guest account, but in 10, you need to use an email or other accouns.

Is it possible to make a guest account on Windows 10 without using email?

Also, how can I stop my PC from going straight to the desktop screen when it starts up?

Did you see the tutorial I cited in post #4 - from the huge searchable Tutorials section - do feel free to have a look..

Add Guest Account in Windows 10

You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to add a guest account.
There's no reference to an email address being associated with the guest account.

    Under Option 1 it says:
5 If you like, you can add a password to this guest account.
    i.e. optional
