Forgot Windows 10 password

Why don't you log on with the 4-digit PIN and go into settings and select change password? When that is done make sure you don't forget it again.

I agree with Ed - change the password. In think you'll need Option 5 of
Change password of Local ... Account - TenForumsTutorials
Then write the new password down somewhere secure yet accessible.
And then make at least one spare, local, password-protected Admin account in case your normal account ever gets corrupted.

It's really worth making time to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.

- Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
- Both tutorial lists are searchable.
- You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,

I find that just because I'm logged in with the 4-digit key, I cannot change the character password without the old password. Fortunately, I remembered the password and can log in either way.
