    Removal of Password screen

    (Win10 Pro, 64bit, build 20H2.)

I have only an Admin account, which I set up with no password, which would boot straight to desktop, which is how I want it.

My problem is, I have just installed the latest software from AMD which appears to have scrambled my login screen.

I installed AMD Software Adrenalin Edition to update my graphics card drivers, which I had to do to solve some other issues. Having installed it, I now suddenly get a login screen which starts off by saying there is no network connection, Click OK and that takes me to asking for my username and password. No matter what I do, I can't get rid of it.

So can someone kindly let me know how I can boot straight to desktop as I had before?

    Thanks in advance.

If I run netplwiz, I can confirm that the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" box is unchecked.

Hi Graham 9, Try this : Press Win+R keys together which will launch RUN dialog box. Type Regedit Go to following key HKEY-Local-Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Device In the Right hand pane look for DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion DWORD The DWord will be 2. Double click DevicePasswordLessBuildVersion and change DWord value from 2 to 0 Use netplwiz and 'Users must enter user name and password ' dialog box should appear. If not reboot and enter netplwiz again this time user dialog will appear and then uncheck 'Users must enter user name and password to use this computer ' Reboot pc again and password prompt login will not appear. The above steps worked for me. My Os Windows 10 Pro 21H2 with latest updates

Actually, that box should be ticked. When it is un-ticked it means you have it set up to automatically sign in as a particular user. Tick the box and it should be back to how you want it.

Thanks for all the replies. It appears to have solved itself. Going into netplwiz, I checked the "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer", and it asked for a password on login. Unchecked it, and it appears to have cleared itself. Not sure what happened, but all seems ok now.

    Thanks again.
