Any way to remotely find a lost Android device?

I'm traveling and accidentally left a Samsung Galaxy notebook computer in a large auditorium. I used the "find my device" app and the last place shown is a motel where I stayed. I'm certain that I left the motel and used it in the auditorium. Is there some way that I can use e.g., device name, serial number, or some other item to locate the computer?

I know that this might sound like a stupid question, but have you contacted the motel and auditorium to find out if they have it?

It might have been handed in!

Not stupid - I'm the stupid one for losing it!

But yes - I've contacted them both.

In the Find My Device app, there is an option to ring the device/make sound at full volume for 5 minutes. I just tried that on my Galaxy phone, it is quite obnoxious! If by some chance your device has not been discovered yet, making noises with it may draw someone's attention, and turn it in. Just a thought.

The find my device works great. As long as you can sign in to your Google account on the website with the same as on the phone you can use it.

    I agree.
And that noise command works even if the phone has location turned off.

    Find My Device
Is it possible for me to locate the device using "Find My Device" if someone finds it and recharges the battery?

I've tried the "Find My Device" utility several times and left my phone number. I've received no response and the utility says "Can't reach device" . So I assume that the battery is discharged or the device has been found and there's no attempt to return it to me. I do have my address affixed to a label on the computer but it's been over a week now and no mail from the finder.

I'll certainly be more careful when I replace the device. Thanks to everyone for your expert advice.
