    Forgot W10 login password. Do have and know PIN


    W10 Home
    Version 10.0.19044 Build 19044

    Boot laptop, go to login screen, prompted for a PIN and I know what it is and it works. Want to use a password instead, but I do not know what it is. Searched the 'Net but don't find anything that works. Is there any hope?

    You cannot recover the password but you can change the password.

    With local users. If you can run an Admin Command Prompt and you can change your password with net.exe

    Code:
    net user UserName NewPassword
    You must be Admin and respect the minimum required password complexity.

    Log off and connect back with the new password.

Does anyone know how to retrieve a password from autocomplete. I am being asked to change a password but I have to put the old password in first and I don't know what it is. It is in auto complete but I don't know how to get the actual password...
So... It's not quite that simple... She is taking an online course to learn Ancient Greek and uses a program that allows her to type using Greek symbols. The problem arose when she decided to change the account password to a Greek word using this...
