1 device – Office 365 – 2 users – seek advice how to setup things

Am seeking advice how to set things up properly.

Soon I will be getting my Microsoft Surface Pro 7+ with Windows 10 x64 Pro, replacing my (very) old Android tablet.
I have Office 365 (subscription), so far am the only user.

This new device will be used by my wife most of the time.
Currently she is still using Gmail, but she already has an Outlook mail account, though she is not aware of it. All Gmails are automatically forwarded to here Outlook account, so, when switching to Outlook, all 'old' Gmail stuff already is in place.
Here Outlook account is within my Outlook on desktop.

I have been puzzling as to how set things up on the Surface Pro in a way so we can both use it - all being separated.
When I am using it, I will basically use it for Office 365 and visiting forums (using Roboform for the login credentials).
Both will be using Office 365 of course.

Being the admin on that device, I probably need to create a 2nd user(?) and install Office 365 there as well (??)

Now, this is a totally new 'area' for me.
I am a little bit familiar with single user settings on my desktop, passwordless login (netplwiz, etc.).

What I would like to accomplish:
    - after launching Windows a login screen – preferably set to my wife's name by default (User), using a PIN to access (or better, passwordless)
    - my account (admin) left bottom corner(?) secured with my Outlook account password.

I guess I probably need to proceed as per
Add Local Account or Microsoft Account in Windows 10 | Tutorials (tenforums.com)

option 3 : "To Add a Local Account in netplwiz"

and uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" for the 'User' account.

Any other recommendations as to how to properly proceed or what I should bear in mind.
As said this is a new 'area' for me.

    Thanks.

A couple of issues to address here:

First, I'm assuming that your Microsoft 365 subscription is the family version. I know that when I installed MS 365 under my account, and then later created a second user account on my system, MS 365 was already available when I logged onto that account. The first time that you launch a MS 365 app such as Outlook, Word, etc. you will need to sign in to activate and link that install with that user.

Second, I know that you are forwarding messages from your wife's Gmail account to Outlook, but that's not necessary. Outlook can receive and send e-mail from multiple providers, Gmail being one of those. In Outlook, simply navigate to File > Add Account to add the Gmail account.

Third, do NOT uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" for her account. That option is used to effectively autologin a user.

When logging on to your wife's account, she will have the same options that the first user account has, for example, logging on with a password, pin, Windows hello, etc.

As for the user name shown when first starting the system, I believe the user shown by default is the last user to have logged on. Simply click the user name to logon with in the lower left of the screen if the user shown is not you.

Personally, I am typically the only person logging into my systems so I don't often have multiple user accounts on a machine. As a result, if I'm missing anything here I would welcome any other's comments.

Thank you so much! Yes, I have a Microsoft 365 Family. Within my account, under share subscriptions, my wife's Outlook email is listed.
With installing software you mean this?

I know about Gmail within Outlook, I have been using it upto my switch to a Office 365 subscription. Maybe I might as well use her Gmail account. Frankly... it is a bit embarrassing having to confess:: I didn't think of it at the time, when creating her Outlook email account, although I should have. I guess it was more or less a kind of a mind-set, Office ? then Outlook.
    Ahum.

The idea of unchecking "Users must enter a user name..." was the following: I assume(...) that when two users are using the same device, then Windows would present both users at the login screen, i.e. my wife's user-id and mine. Then if she would tap on her user-id, then nothing is asked, no password or pin, simply log in. In my case, my user-id, would then be with a pin or password. So at the login screen Windows will not continue, until a user is selected.
BUT.... then again, I don't know for sure.

Just got word the Surface Pro is going to be delivered this evening. I am sure I will hit on matters that won't work, either accounts stuff, or applications.

    Thanks again.
