    Changing the user name for the PC


    Hi

    I want to give my PC to my son, it is a fully legal and updated PC but
    with my "user" name.

    All of the installed MS software is on that PC only and the non MS software
    has been uninstalled.

    How do I get the PC changed to my son's "user name" and be seen as valid
    for updates etc.

    What I have done is while logged in with Administrative Rights is to create a New User, Local account and put in the new name and set as Administrator. Then reboot and should get two choices for User, select the new one and let setup run. When finished remove the old User and reboot. Be sure to have saved any documents needed as may not get a choice to save when removing that account.
