    @CaptainFlint

    Set a password for your default user account and that will prevent auto login. All the instructions are in the earlier posts. Just read the instructions and ensure you make the changes in the correct order. :)

    I don't see how this helps me. I do not want any account - administrator or any of the three standard accounts - to login automatically. The guide you have linked to is how to set accounts to login automatically the exact opposite of what I want.
    Method two, step five: if it shows you how to enable auto login, then you also know how to disable it. This might help you but you gotta read. Sometimes, a guide that shows the opposite of what you want can still help you.

    You might as well give up now, what you are trying to do is not possible any more. MS in all its glory decided, that it is pointless, so it is blocked. I have seen many people try and fail time and time again.

    I can think only about: Let your PC autologin, then sign out (script) and then you can choose accounts.

    Hmmmm...well that will be new to me....I'm going install Win10 on a new test rig tomorrow. I'll put on multiple use accounts with autologin enabled. I will then test the settings I and others posted earlier in this thread to verify how win10 applies the changes. It was working until a few weeks ago...Why would MS mess with that?? It wouldn't make sense to be stuck with autologins.

    He is trying to prevent auto-login with accounts without passwords.
    Auto-login can be only disabled, if accounts (last used) have passwords.

    Got it. Well that is not possible then lol You must have a password. If you have not got a password then you may as well have the device auto login.

    Anyhow, I thought @CaptainFlint wanted the admin account to be the default option at startup WITH a password. I also thought CaptainFlint wanted the other three accounts to not have a password. That setup can be achieved. Or am I missing something?

    Except it was possible before, MS just wants it this way and an user can go **** himself, just like with Start.

    Exactly. I think this thread could be two pages shorter if the original post was read correctly. Shame ms did this, it's so annoying!

    Perhaps I should have made myself clearer as to what I am trying to achieve. Ideally I do not want any passwords on any accounts including administrator, however I am willing to concede a password on administrator if it has to be. However just want to be presented with the list of users each time I turn on the laptop, regardless of who was last logged in or how the machine was shutdown.

    It doesn't look like MS want me to do this and the workarounds do not work.
