    Sign In problems

After today's update, I can't sign in, create/reset a password, nothing is working. Is the problem VPN? Tried online Microsoft help, same problem. Using Win10.

Any idea what 'today's update' might be? That can differ considerably from user to user.

You could, for example, use a System Restore point. As you can't log in, you would need a Win 10 bootable disk, boot from that, via 'Repair your computer' to advanced startup options and hence to a System Restore option. You will need your password.

How do you normally sign in? Windows Hello or a password? Is yours a local or a MS account?

    Is yours an Insider build?

Well, the PC was ready to restart when I switch it on in the morning. Check the Updates and there was none but one pending, optional with security updates. Maybe this one is missing on my PC, will know soon (just started update 21H1).

I can't sign in to a Windows account anymore but using a skype account. Some confusion with the e-mail address. I need to wipe out all mail addresses and start a new. Anyhow defender has a yellow triangle. I don't use Edge or Hello or Outlook.

I've set PIN sign-in, so this is solved but the defender (off) still showing a warning which is caused by declaring Utorrent app non-gratta. Dismiss doesn't work but a recommendation is to switch Defender On. I have Malwarbytes on my PC and my browser plus I'm on my VPN. Should I switch Defender On?

If you're confident in the program you can add an exclusion for the process:
Add or Remove Microsoft Defender Antivirus Exclusions in Windows 10

Using a VPN will not protect you from virus or trojan risks.
