I have never had this, and am unclear if you are able to log on at all - but there are lots of people who have had the same issue, see here. I noted the suggestion to disable 'fast boot' from SoggyCigs - have you tried that if appropriate?

Or try the reply from Hunter MD on the next page - Safe mode, Windows Key + R, Type “ntplwiz”, Uncheck the box located next to Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

    Worth a try?

    Yeap, another post says:
The option for forced safe mode - which is the first suggested method to access safe mode by Microsoft with no ability to reply to that suggestion - by using msconfig and selecting "Diagnostic Startup" results in this issue where the PIN can never be used again until the operating system is completely reinstalled. Even the restore point does not undo this option, and there is no way to deselect this option without logging into Windows, which forever after selecting it cannot be done. Thanks to all of Microsoft's "help" above, we now know with absolute certainty that selecting "Diagnostic Startup" - which was their first suggestion for getting into safe mode - completely corrupts the operating system irreparably.

Have you tried canceling the safe mode/diagnostic boot when offline (as you are now)?
How to Turn Off Safe Mode without Logging into Windows | Password Recovery

Another possibility might be to try running System Restore while offline - you will need your password.

Boot from a Win 10 bootable disk, click 'Repair your computer' and so on through the advanced startup options to System Restore.

Note: this is the sort of reason tenforums members endlessly recommend you routinely and regularly use disk imaging so you can restore your Windows installation and any imaged partition - even if you have to replace your disk. E.g. Macrium Reflect (free) + external storage for disk image files.

    No option gave any results.

That reminded me, that I used some backup software, but could not recognise .mpi files it created. Finally I did - it was Minitool Shadowmaker. And so I am, back on my Windows, from a month earlier state, but logged in :)

It is soooo important to make backups!

Thanks all you guys for staying in touch!
