DiskPart provides a powerful set of commands.
If you particularly wanted to use command prompt commands then I would suggest using Dir instead.- You can see its built-in help file by entering this in a cmd prompt window Dir /?File explorer is more straightforward.

Back again. I thought I had posted this last night but had obviously not saved changes or sent it.
Sorry but I cannot make head nor tail of the DIR directions. I have been busy tho as follows:
1} Decided to uninstall Money Manager - final trigger was Microsoft Troubleshooter saying that the programme is incompatible.I took that to mean they had no solution to offer.
2) I have several times run sfc /scannow and DISM -- sfc has alternated with saying no problem to saying it has found problems and successfully repaired them. DISM the same. Ten forums DISM tutorials and threads were very helpful.
3) Prior to the last time I ran the above, I downloaded Treesize.exe and finally managed to delete the mjcx2 user profile.The search file that was preventing deletion of it contained search index files and II6 files which I was advised I could delete as the search index would rebuild even if it slowed down search for a while. I don`t run a web site. The default user folders still contain the tag mjcx2LAPTOP-QIGMIR90 but I understand this is because that was the name of the laptop when I took it over so it is not a matter of concern. Do you agree ?
4) By this time I had deleted yet another Local Account and replaced it with yet another new one while I continued tryiing to find out what is going on. Prior to the most recent sfc and DISM completions file folder, either DISM or sfc /scannow (can`t remember which) seemed to indicate that FUNF user account had problems. I find the results of DISM and sfc difficult to fathom but there was certainly some mention of FUNF User Account in connection with an unresolved problem.
5) I am still running 3 User Accounts, but changed the 2 Local Accounts to standard and the Microsoft account to Administrator yesterday.
I am hoping that uninstalling Money Manager and deleting mjcx2 will improve matters though I suspect Clean Install may still be necessary.
Thankyou very much for taking the time to read all this ! I have learned an awful lot on this journey so it will not have been wasted whatever !

Dir is a command that lists the contents of a folder.
2 Constant / recurring SFC problem detection are a concern. I suggest that, the next time it detects problems, you use the guidance in the SFC tutorial to post the last SFC results [just delete the earlier ones from your post because they will just confuse the picture].
3 This issue makes me think that there is still an overall Windows problem because the search index is nowhere near any of the user folders. When you are going to have time to spare you might usefully consider a Clean install [If I remember correctly, you got away with just doing a Repair install before].
- If there are no further symptoms of problems then you might just make a note to do this in the fullness of time [as I did for an annoying yet non-critical problem on my computers two or three years ago. Time has not yet reached fullness.].
4 I do not think that either SFC or DISM can detect faults with a user account. If you see such reports again, use the SFC tutorial to extract & paste results.
5 I suggest that you have at least one spare password-protected, local Admin account. If your 'proper' accounts ever suffer from corruption, a local account is a more reliable/straightforward fallback and it needs to be Admin in case remediation actions need Admin permissions.
- Write down its password somewhere secure yet accessible just as you have done for the other user accounts on your computer.

Is it possible for me to delete posts from this thread - some of my ramblings are of little use to anyone.
I am not sure how, but the problem appears to have cleared up. Even Money Manager is working (see thread on Windows 10 and Moneysoft Problems which I have marked as solved.
I take your point re: keeping a Local Account open with Admin privileges though it does seem that matters have improved since I reduced the Local Accounts to standards, and promoted Microsoft Account to Admin. Could be coincidence of course.
I think I have finally got rid of mjcx2. I don`t want to embark on another historical ramble but my husband`s backups definitelyu brought viruses in with them. Either that or my attempts to merge the two sources of data left the back door open for something. I had problems with Trojan and a couple of others which were supposed to have been cleared up by Bitdefender but with all the other confusions I created, it is very hard to see the wood for the trees.
Hopefully all is going well enough for me to avoid Clean Install for the time being. I have a great deal else to do in the wake of my house guests departing and some of it wont wait. But at least my laptop is functioning again. I really thought it was going to die on me.

I may run sfc /scannow and DISM fairly regularly for a while but will start a new thread if I need to post the results.

You can click on edit underneath any of your posts and either edit or delete them [delete is at the top of the window that opens and you need to both set a checkbox and click on the delete button]. But cleaning up like that is a lot of effort for no benefit and will invalidate any cross-references to them later in the thread.
The point of additional local password-protected Admin accounts is to ensure that you can get back into the computer if your day-to-day Admin account is corrupted in the future. User accounts get corrupted in use not when sitting there in readiness for use so such additional accounts can be regarded as highly reliable.
I have a note in my Calendar to run SFC monthly on each computer but I am well aware that doing so is a waste of time and, when it comes to it, I generally skip the job.
- If you have symptoms of a Windows fault then run SFC.
- If you have symptoms of a Windows fault and SFC reports that there were faults that it was unable to fix then run the Dism command explained in the SFC tutorial.
- There is no benefit in running SFC at any other time.
- Some people claim benefits in running Dism in the absence of any fault symptoms but I have never seen a rational explanation of what those benefits are.
