I can save tutorials though I might as well save the links of the ones I need. I have hand written quite a few of the instructions you have directed me to anyway.
I also print tutorials & other web pages to pdf and I keep links to them so I can return to check if they have been updated.

Re: Excel - the only Excel .exe file I can find is in mjcx2LAPTOP_QUIMIR90. Can I transfer App Data content to another User ?

I can open and modify Excel Files I have on Toshiba so it is functioning ok where it is. It doesn`t show in FUNF.
It is part of the Office 2016 collection but Msoft have decided to push Office 365 Excel so I can only download from other sites.

I have looked up Excel in Tutorials but nothing relevant to my problem.
I do not understand what you are saying here.

1 I never expect to find any Excel files in AppData so I do not understand why you seem to link the two topics.
2 You can copy individual files from AppData to other user accounts.
3 If you want to transfer whole folders from AppData to another user account's AppData then I suggest you make a new system image beforehand.

4 "the only Excel .exe file I can find is in mjcx2LAPTOP_QUIMIR90"
    - Where else were you expecting them?
    - You do not, by default, have access to another user account's folders so files might be there but not reported in search results. You can give an Admin account access permission by browsing into the user's folders in File explorer.
    - You should have access to all your backed up folders on your external drives so perhaps you could search there instead.

5 "It doesn`t show in FUNF" What does not show and where does it show & not show?

6 "so I can only download from other sites" I do not know what you are downloading so I do not understand this comment.

7 "nothing relevant to my problem" I do not understand what problem you are referring to.

    All the best,

You might prefer to browse through the Tutorial index - there's a shortcut to it at the top of every page.
    - At the foot of the Tutorial index is a shortcut to download it as a spreadsheet.
    - I download a new copy each month.
    - By downloading it as a spreadsheet I can benefit from Excel's excellent filtering capabilities when I search for topics of interest.
    - Tutorials are also listed by category at Tutorials - there's also a shortcut to that at the top of every page.
    - Both tutorial lists are searchable.
    - You can also search for TenForumsTutorials in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com/tutorials after your search term. For example,
    taskbar toolbars site:tenforums.com/tutorials

You can search TenForums using the search box in the top-right corner of all TenForums webpages or using Advanced Search - TenForums
    - You can also search TenForums threads in many general search engines, such as Google, by adding site:tenforums.com after your search term. For example,
Search for drivers by HardwareID site:tenforums.com
    - [This is what the search box in the top-right corner of TenForums webpages does automatically]

Sorry if my Excel comments were vague. I did not know where to look to check that Excel would still be available if I deleted the only User folder that seemed to mention it. I since found it is part of the Office 2016 installation. I re-installed it from Microsoft Office site to be on the safe side and saved it to the new account with admin privileges I call FUNF. I have transferred the backed up Excel folder from the External Hard Drive to FUNF, gave Users Modify permissions and I can open, modify and save the files with no problem.

I have downloaded Macrium Reflect but a bit concerned that Macrium says Microsoft will not allow booting from a USB Drive.
However it looks from Tutorials as tho it is perfectly possible to create a bootable USB drive so I will carry on tomorrow with cloning the LAPTOP. Looks like I need about 8 GB storage minimum available. Not ready yet to set up a backup system.
I prefer to get rid of the rest of the Temp Folders and the defunct User Folders first.

If I delete files from TEMP folders I can`t identify either from label. opening, path or properties is this risky? Could I be deleting files necessary to run the system?

It is a good idea to clear out your user folder contents before making your system image. Leave in the main group of folders themselves though [C:\Users\%UserName%\Documents, C:\Users\%UserName%\Desktop, C:\Users\%UserName%\Music, …].

If I delete files from TEMP folders I can`t identify either from label. opening, path or properties is this risky? Could I be deleting files necessary to run the system?
    You mean this?
    C:\Users\%UserName%\AppData\Local\Temp

You clean that out indirectly by using Disk cleanup.
Open and Use Disk Cleanup - TenForumsTutorials
    - It can take a while so don't watch it.

    User Account Confusions

re TEMP Folders, I was talking about the remaining TEMP folders the system created when I could not access the User Account.
There were 15 of them. I have cleared and deleted the first 2 or 3 but I keep coming across files with names consisting just of letters and numbers. It is these I am nervous about deleting.

I have started a new thread about the 3 ghost accounts which are still showing up not all in the same place. mjcx2; mjcxLAPTOP-QUIMIR90 and granny counter They don`t seem to affect FUNF and the other admin account I set up as a fail safe doesn`t have a User Profile as I have not used it yet. I have backups of the content off the LAPTOP.

I thought I would use DISK CLEANIUP to remove Windows Upgrade Log Files at least.

    Thanks again.

You mean folders within C:\Users\... created when you had been forced ono a temporary profile?

    You can delete them.

    Denis

About one of your new threads - I suggest you run the disk cleanup completely, allowing it to delete Windows.old. You already have a system image anyway.

Keep hold of your notes & links about Clean install. You might end up deciding to do it.

You have not filled in your system specs. Look at the top of the page for Quick links - click on that then select Update system specs.
    - If you do not want to go into great detail then have a look at my bare outline entries - click on my My computer link to the left of each of my posts. Filling in the computer models can help those who are going to be trying to help you with those 'ghost' accounts.

    Thanks so much.
I will follow up on your suggestions.
Yes I do mean the Temp User accounts
They are not the ones DISM refers to as Temporary Internet Files are they ?
Can I wipe the 13 or so User Account ones without checking the data in them ? I wont inadvertently delete something important to the system will I ? Any important data from entries made by me recorded in them I would have backed up onto external hard drive. I am only concerned about files I can`t identify from their names.

You can delete the ones related to user accounts that have been deleted.

I think you might mean Disk cleanup. No, Temporary internet files are different things.
