    no administrator account on laptop

I had a windows 10 laptop connected to a corporate domain and had a domain user as the administrator. This was a new laptop for a new user. The windows is 10 enterprise.

I was about to hand it off to the new user when I was informed that the user was not a domain user and they needed to be made a local user.

I created a local user for the individual and removed the PC from the domain. I can login to the laptop using the local account, but the account is a user not an administrator. The local administrator account is disabled.

I can not reattach the PC to the domain. I can't reinstall windows, I can't do anything.

I tried that already and I don't have permission. The account says it's enabled, but when I get to windows, it's disabled. Also, I don't know the administrator password.

You booted from USB and edited the SAM registry hive?

    The built-in administrator doesn't have a password:

By default, the built-In Administrator account's password is empty so you can log in to it without entering anything in the password input box on the Sign in screen.

I am going to try and edit the registry. What keys/values should I edit and to what values? could I make the user account an administrator this way?

    no administrator account on laptop
Have not seen a setup where the first User could be a Standard User, had to have Administrative Rights and that is different from the default Administrator as mentioned.

That's fully detailed in the tutorial to which I provided a link.

Does the BIOS show the drive? Also could be only the intended boot/system drive needs to be the only one plugged in/attached to the motherboard.

I eventually reset the laptop to factory settings. The hardest part was finding the bit locker recovery key. This time I didn't connect to the domain network and everything was good. I created the user as an administrator. After that I could reinstall the programs
