Settings > Accounts... clicking on Sign In Options does nothing

Title says it all. Even used @Brink 's reg patch to enable "Sign in options".
Everything else in the Settings > Accounts page, works.

IF I click on Sign In Options... it locks up just the Accounts page.

SFC and Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth... come up clean.

Even went back two backups, to June 1st (so it's not the two June updates)

    Hello @Ghot,

That sounds like a REG Tweak has broken the link.
I have had this in the past with a Winaero Tweak, and another in an ISO I Pre-Customised before installation.

    I hope this helps.

Doesn't help... and I haven't done any reg tweaks lately.
And when I do Reg tweaks, I don't just do them willy nilly. :/

I checked Winaero too. Nothing in there, that I use, has anything to do with Sign In Options.

    Curiouser and curiouser...

Sign In Options DOES work... it just takes exactly 53.9 seconds to come up, after I click... "Sign In Options"
All the other choices on Settings > Accounts, come up instantly.

I'm wondering if this is an MS thing (maybe 21H1?) to convince folks on Local Accounts, to switch to a Microsoft account.
Sign In Options, used to come up instantly, about 2-4 months ago.

Unfortunately, for troubleshooting purposes... I don't ever really click on Sign In Options. :/

Is there anyone on a Local account on 19043.1055, or 19043.1023 who could check this?

Nuh, when I applied certain tweaks/settings before, I had the same issue (20H1/H2).
Sign-in is linked to MS account, it has a lot of dependencies in order to work properly.

Have you disabled UAC, perhaps? And you can try resetting policies to default.
(System Restore could help to get you back as you were).

Nope, that is not normal. You've got something you've set somewhere that's causing server lag to verify you. Here, I click and it's way sub-second, virtually instant.

I'm on a Local Admin account...for what reason do I need a server to verify me?

None, then. I don't use just local accounts. When did this start happening? I saw the June restores.

I can't be sure... I really have no need to click on Sign In Options.
I clicked on it this time, to check something for someone else's post.
I'd guess that it worked (instantly) sometime in the past 2-4 months.

This is why I suspect an MS update or feature update.

I already totally disabled Bitdefender to eliminate that as a possible cause.

As for tweaks... other than Firefox 89, I haven't really tweaked anything in a long time... quite a few months, I would say.

    Short version...

I'm on a LOCAL Admin account, UAC has been off since I installed Win 10
    Bitdefender isn't the cause.
SFC and DISM/Restore come up clean.
Entire rest of Settings > Accounts page, works fine.
Sign In Options does work but takes 53 seconds to come up.

And as for tweaks, etc. Even the ones I have done in the past, don't really have anything to do with User Accounts.

Here's the entire Sign In Options page...

Settings > Accounts... clicking on Sign In Options does nothing-image1.png

I remember about 3-4 months ago, when clicking on Sign In Options to check something for a poster... it came up instantly. Today when i did the same... it took 53 seconds.

Just about every Windows tweak (other than simple personalizations), was done between May and say... September in 2020.

    /edit

I mean it's not a huge issue... it does work. It's just something i noticed, that's popped up in the last 3-4 months.
That's what makes me think... 21H1 or an update.

P.S. This is the ONLY account on this computer.

Brb, Imma check it in Safe mode.
