I've been having many little problems over a year now and could never fix them. A little while ago I created another user profile and lo and behold all the very obvious problems I was having are now working fine. I've posted about them in a few threads I started.

Not wanting to have to install all my programs as well as changes I made to my system I copied over my original account to the new one. The results were not quite what I expected. I thought I would have a mirror image of my old account but while many things were there many were not. Even some programs that were moved over had problems.

So my question for you. Is there a nice way of creating a new user account and moving over my old account to it so I don't have to reinstall or fix 'stuff'? I still want the things that weren't working to work. Perhaps someone has created a program or script for doing this. My hunch is that no matter how I do it I am going to have to manually tune my new account. I'd be interested in hearing from those folks that had to do what I want to do and their experiences.
