"PIN code no longer available" after a CHKDSK commannd

    Hi everyone!

I'm posting here because after recover my dualboot installation, I tryed, because Windows was not working so fine, a CHKDSK command. This completly blocked my whole Windows installation (I also tryed to update before everything happens). I would like to be able to the DISM commands (like /cleanup-image and /restore-health), but the only acces to the command prompt that I have for now is from my USB stick, which doesn't allow at the most of DISM commands.

From my login screen, the unique option I can see (except reboot and shutdown), is the one that asks me if I want to find an application on the Windows store. If I say yes, it just loads a moment, and nothing happens. I'm the only user of the Windows installation.
I precise I also have access to the filesystem from my Linux installation, if any manipulation would be possible to resolve this.
I also tryed from safe mode, but in my case it doesn't allow anything more than in the normal mode.

I have a lot of software pretty complicated to install (like VSTs) on this installation so I don't want to have to do it once again, for this reason I would like to avoid a complete reinstall, moreover that this installation is a recent one.

Thank you very much in advance for your help guys!

Welcome to the forum. What was the results from disk check its possible the disk has gone bad hence the problems. You should be able to run any cmd from prompt but you won't have path set so you need to give full path or goto the correct folder

I'll give you the result of the check disk in a little while. But most of DISM commands are available only logged in as user of the local computer, which is not the case when I'm using a USB stick, even if starting in the "C:" path.
Maybe I could start the cmd.exe command from the system32 of the local computer I guess

well, I can't access to the event viewer so for now I don't have any solution to see what was the chkdsk command result (I was not in front of my computer when it ended)

I already tried to delete it, when I do this I just don't see my picture and no possibility to enter anything. And it is obviously not editable

Thanks to this I got the idea to change password and the registry entries directly from linux using chntpw. Now I can access to Windows but only from the admin account. Also, I can't access to the the whole Windows 10 part of the OS : settings, start menu and et cetera are unavailable.

So I would like to be able to connect again as my own account (or at least to have the choice to do it). Also the DISM commands didn't change anything, and the event viewer is also not available.

EDIT: now this applications are available, it was so to safe mode. But I still can't connect to my own account.

EDIT: I have now access to my own account. But the admin account stills appear and asks for password for every operation I do from my own account. Is there a way to disable it?

EDIT: everything works finally fine. Thank you for your help and links!
