Can’t right click and run as administrator

    Hi
Even tried the built in administrator account, but when e.g.I right click on notepad and select run as administrator, nothing happens. Is there a solution to this ? Please

    thanks

I have not seen this reported before.

I suggest two tests that ought to provide further info:-
1 Restart in Safe mode and see what happens there. 2 Create a new admin user, just for test purposes, to see how it behaves.
    Best of luck,

    Possibly a defective shortcut.

Type notepad in the Search box
    Does Run as administrator work?

Those test results indicate that it's a Windows fault rather than some application or user profile corruption causing it.
    Run SFC Option 1
    SFC-DISM - TenForumsTutorials

I do not know what syntax to use in the boot's command prompt for Dism but if SFC detects errors that it cannot fix I'd suggest posting in this thread to ask how to run Dism in those conditions.
Use DISM to Repair Windows 10 Image - TenForumsTutorials

None of the checks I'd want to see can be done in your current state.
The only other remedial action I'd consider suggesting [Repair install] cannot be done in your current state.
So, if SFC-Dism does not fix it, I'm afraid the only resolution I can think of would be a reinstallation of Windows & your applications after having first backed up your own files.

    Hello @reddwarf4ever,

Have a look at this => How to Run an App as Administrator in Windows 10

You could also add a Run as Administrator to the Context Menu . . .

    > How to Add or Remove 'Run as administrator' Context Menu in Windows 10

    I hope this helps.

Very strange. I have just checked the link on TWO computers and it's fine.
