I have a corrupt profile after a windows update. Can I repair advice?

The reason we want to make an image via Macarium Reflect is it gives us a "Get out of jail card" if things go wrong, and we can start again.

An image is an exact/mirror copy of the c drive kept in a safe place for later use, preferably on a separate backup. As a bonus "Macarium Reflect free" is provided with a few limitations, but this will not impact on any thing we need to do to repair your pc.

Well, I know that the shortcuts can be opened, but it won't let me open the file locations. It does, however, open the microsoft office files. it was not like this prior to uninstalling/reinstalling the update. As far as I know, when I link it to my Microsoft account, it is still an administrator.

Previously, people were suggesting that I basically only needed just enough space for a bootable media, and not a full install.. I only purchased a 16 GB Sandisk drive... I am wondering why I need a full install.

You will need an 8 GB USB for the installation media for Win 10, although NOT ALL 8 GB will be used.

With ALL the WUs installed I would say that Win 10 installs at around 10 GB - 15 GB, depending on the version of course.

What is a WU? I am unfamiliar with this term technically, but i understand that you are saying it won't take up all the space.

Please look at screenshot called "progfilesindesign.jpg" that one is in program files, and it is a file. It is read only. If it is not labeled in my post, there is a picture showing an indesign icon, and it shows a shortcut in program files, and shows an attribute of read-only. I understand that file location that is not allowed to open is not read-only. But is blocking me from opening the location. When I re-installed the update, Windows made those files hidden. "Show files or folders," or whatever that option is, did not unhide it. It was not like that when I first installed the update (even though the profile was corrupted. Those links are only shown when I type in the program names in the search bar in the task bar. Then it brings up programdata. when I click on properties, it shows in target: "Microsoft Office Small Business 2007" where it shows "Open file location" it is grayed out. When I went to find the jpg that I am referencing in this post, and I tried to click on it to open it, it did reference Paint, but it had a prompt with "Ok" grayed out. I had to click outside the box to close it. even though it was saved by Paint, it wanted me to re-associate it with paint to open it. I keep getting these various prompts, that i cannot close.
