    Microsoft account listed device issue

I have two PC's, both used to appear under my online Microsoft account in "devices" but something has changed on one of the PC's because it no longer appears under "devices". Both PC's have my Microsoft account details and both are using a local account to login to the PC but only one appears in "devices". I have seen online tutorials about how to get this to work again but they start with a reinstall of Windows which I dont want to do.

The PC will appear in "devices" if I login to it using my Microsoft account details but why is this necessary?

Most likely I would think a version update has caused it
    Try this please
Add or Remove Trusted Devices for Microsoft Account

Thanks for the reply, I tried the process in the link without success. I have done more testing with four different PC's with different results on each! All PC's are on W10 20H2.

PC1 Log into pc with MS account it appears in devices, log in with local account and it still appears in devices.

PC2 Log into pc with MS account it appears in devices, log in with local account and it no longer appears in devices.

PC3 Log into pc with MS account it appears in devices, log in with local account and it still appears in devices. However if I delete the MS account on the pc it is still in devices.

PC4 Log into pc with MS account it appears in devices, log in with local account and it still appears in devices. If I delete the MS account on the pc it no longer appears in devices.

PC 3 and 4 are other family members hence why I deleted my MS account on them and noticed the different behaviour.

Given the flakiness of the MS account I have decided not to bother and will use a local account to log on in future.

    Cheers
The assortment of results for the four is a bit of a puzzle
Providing you can manage with just the local account - some aspects of course not being available on a local account , it is perhaps the easier solution
