Windows Hello preventing options on requiring sign-in

I got a new Lenovo laptop computer and it was working great but the last month or so it requires me to login every time I step away...I used to have it set for a longer time iirc because it's in a home setting, but when I go to Sign-in options now it tells me:

"Windows Hello is preventing some options from being shown." (screen capture attached)

(and it's stuck on "Every Time").

Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance.

    Hello,

If the Require sign-in setting is grayed out with a Windows hello is preventing some options from being shown message, it means it is not possible to change the Require sign-in setting in option 1 below while Windows Hello (ex: face) is enabled since it is assumed you want to use Windows Hello to sign in every time.

If you do not want to remove your Windows Hello Face for example to be able to use option 1 above, you could use option 5 or 6 below to set the Require sign-in setting via policy instead.

Also why are you still running 1803 if that is the current build of 10, as against some detail taken from the original install of 10 on the Lenovo
    Version 1803 (OS Build 17618.1000)
As you can see - out of date
Current status as of November 12, 2019:
Windows 10, version 1803 (the April 2018 Update) Home and Pro editions have reached end of service. For Windows 10 devices that are at, or within several months of reaching end of service, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update (with users having the ability to choose a convenient time); keeping those devices supported and receiving the monthly updates that are critical to device security and ecosystem health.

I recommend if 1803 is the current version on your computer - you update

Hi that's strange because I always download updates and it currently says there are no updates available for me.

Hi, I guess I'm a little confused about Hello does, and whether I should sign in with my Microsoft account or a local one?

At some point I'll try deactivating Hello and see what happens (annoyed that I'll have to redo my fingerprints, I did three or so for each of multiple fingers to increase the chances of recognition.

    Cheers
It must be where you took it from.
There are two entries, shown in a number of places. The one I sent you is the present version. Another location is for the original version on the laptop at first install date

I raised the issue, just in case you had the the NOW out of support 1803 version.

No, there won't be. Your 17618.1000 is an Insider Preview build from March 7th 2018. That build was never release to the public, and was superseded by Insider build 17623, at which point 17618 was dropped and got no more updates. The public RTM build of 1803 was 17134, and the RTM version 1809 was build 17763. Your Insider build is a long-abandoned step on the path to developing 1809 for public release.

Click Start, type Winver and run it. What version and build does that show?

I thought winver provides same result as settings -system- about
but I acknowledge a good second check
