Can I Log Out of my “Microsoft Home Account”

    version is in my signiture

    Good afternoon
How can I Log Out of my “Microsoft HomeAccount” I’ve been caught before and I am very wary of MS asking me to change passwords and doing a Clean Install!
•Microsoft Hi Jacked My “MS HomeAccount” I was double checking my backed up password’s when it refused my original password and asked for a new one
•Since then Microsoft Word won’t default to Open the HOME TAB when opening a Doc
•There is also another different Admin Account name next the “Enter your account name and ID picture and a caution icon at top right border,
    • but in [/ Microsoft doc- File- Options – More personalise your Copy of MS word ] it still has my Original Admin account name and initial’s”
•The Computer now only saves my docs as “Read Only” because of those two accounts

Thanks for any help Cheers Dasha

It's not so easy to give you specific advice based on the information you provided, so I'll start by a general one.

On all my machines, I never use Microsoft accounts to login and I never sign in when I use Office. I believe that any action should be performed for a reason. I can imagine multiple scenarios where using a Microsoft account in Office is useful and important. It's just that my own usage is different and for me personally I see no advantage of signing in whatsoever. Since I am using Windows on one computer only, I also see no advantage of using a Microsoft account in Windows.

The reason I'm telling you this is to demonstrate that your PC and your Word can and should work just fine if you log out of all those accounts. Open Word and log out. It should still work, namely you should be able to open and edit documents. If this is not the case, then we should investigate why. This is how it should look once you start it up without signing in

Similarly, in Windows you can always create a new user with a local account, then logout of anything Microsoft-related and login with that local account. Windows should work just fine. If it does not, you've got bigger problems.
