    Windows 10 Security HELP!

    Hi Guys,

I've had a Win 10 drive failure from which I've succesfully recovered by a new installation.

I use a 2x partitioned Nvme ssd for windows and games

And a HDD drive for data storage.

Unfortunetly my fresh installation has f****ed up every file permission in windows10 meaning I cannot access file folders on my E:/ HDD, where I well, basically store my work and code!

I don't want to even express how steaming my ears are at this point, i think if I were to put my feet in water it would boil.

    Now,

How do I recover (in bulk preferably) security ownership over my WordPress, Installation files, Code store folders, GitHub folder etc etc. Without me, well getting a hammer and just go at it at the machine.

And I am seriously thinking about that.

    Please save my machine.

Your fresh install has not changed the ownership on your E:HDD.

What has happened is that the account that owned and had permission for those files and folders no longer exists. Even if you have created an account in the fresh install that has the same name as your old account, it is NOT the same account. It has a new and different Security ID (SID) from the old account that no longer exists.

You now need to take ownership of the files and folders on your E: drive.

Change Owner of File, Folder, Drive, or Registry Key in Windows 10
