Change Password Is Missing From Ctrl+Alt+Del Options

I have been using Windows 10 for a while now. And for a long time now, I've never bothered to change my password until now. I have an experience with previous versions of the Windows operating systems such as Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 etc.
Anytime I wanted to change my logon password, I'll just press the Ctrl+Alt+Del and a couple of options will appear for me to choose from including the "famous change password".
I just noticed, change password isn't in the list of options when i press Ctrl+Alt+Del.
I've been doing some reading about that and tried a couple solutions where i had to change an option in Group Policy Editor. Did that and still haven't been able to unlock that option somehow.

Was wondering if there was any fix out here on TenForums. I've been using solutions, advice and ideas from this forum to solve Windows problems for a long time now. Infact, here's always my first stop on the internet for a fix. And for all these years, it never occurred to me to join this forum. Well, I just did. Literally about 5mins ago. As such, this is my first post also.

    Thanks.

Hi, here are the Win 10 options:
Change Account Password in Windows 10

The huge tutorial section is well worth getting to know.

I've not seen any way to add such an option. There is this:

    Strange. When I press control-alt-delete I get these choices, including change-password ...
    - lock
    - switch user
    - sign out
    - change a password
    - task manager

    Is that unusual?

    There is this policy:

    - but as you can see, mine is not enabled, and I don't have the option on the logon screen.

Odd, I have it on all my machines. You press Ctrl+Alt+Del to get it. Here it is in action on a 1909 machine....

Definitely MIA. I've not tried toggling the policy, and can't recall seeing the option either.

The group policy is in User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Ctrl+Alt+Del Options.

When configured it creates the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System containing a REG_DWORD called DisableChangePassword with the value 1. If it's then set to 'not configured' the key and its contents are deleted.

In the Group Policy window of Remove Change Password pictured in post #4, select Disabled

'Not configured' would be a better choice, that's the default condition for a clean install.

I think it is already set to Not Configured, in that case, try Disabled. You can always change it back.
