Password problem with MS - efforts to get a new password have failed

    Hello,
I have Windows 10 up to date. My PC is a bitzer - built for me by a friend. Works wonderfully.

I wanted to get the Microsoft App to play Mahjong, free of adverts. Forgot my password. I have entered old passwords, filled in their questions - request - the lot, even used a second email address as requested. I was sent a code...got no where. Sent another code - same thing.
When I figured our what I was supposed to do, the reply was "sounds like a school". So, I am an 80 year old, not a school kid tampering with someone's computer. I just want a Password so I can log on and get the Marjong App from the store.

"Answer the questions as best you can"...they say... I did that.

I'd like to converse with a human, but...I have to get a password to do that. Crunch time!

    Thanks to anyone with advice.

Have you used a browser to login to any site with the password as most store it and it can be viewed?

I use Firefox and DDGo. I crashed about 4 months ago, and anything I had in the way of passwords went! I had to do them all over again and test them out...but Microsoft - I never found it again...I had past ones which I used but I figure they went unrecognised as past- passwords when they asked me for previously used passwords. It's a pain.
There is nothing wrong with my PC - it sparkles. I scan regularly. I get rid of History so that it doesn't cross me up. But my bank of Passwords in Firefox does not have the Microsoft password. I think I am dealing with MS Robots that don't see you as an 80 year old - It is the same with most electronics these days. No room for age-error - if you use a PC then you should know...well, I forgot my password, I wanted to find it or replace it - and I hit a brick wall.

Perhaps I should just forget the Mahjong game and anything else on offer...I don't have much of a hope unless I can get past a robot.

Sorry to be maudling about this - but it grates -

    @Lucygrasshopper,
When you were sent a code on your phone or e-mail... did you enter the code into the box to get into your computer-- to enter your MS password, or a new one (preferably)?
The "code" helps you set up the MS password, but you can't use that code number as the password.

Yes. I copied from the email and pasted the code in the code box (twice!) on different occasions. It's as if they don't believe who I am. With so much spam and ham it's hard for older folk - perhaps even for some younger people.
My efforts have an identity crisis. I have a feeling I should clear my history, run a scan, close down my PC, and start from scratch - then maybe someone will know who I could be.

    Thank you for helping

They will change the code number about three times, always select the last one that is given! Don't wait more than a couple of minutes (or less), tho' to grab it.

I don't have any programs or games from MS store, so I don't know!
