    I lost my administrator account in Windows 10 Home


    I had a single admin account on my new PC, a Microsoft account. I changed it to a standard account (still a Microsoft Account). Now I only have this Standard account and cannot do anything that needs admin rights.

    I tried Run > netplwiz to see if I can see the default administrator account there but it won’t open as it’ll prompt for admin credentials (the admin credentials button is blanked too).

    No other accounts appear under control panel > accounts.

    How can I scape this and get an administrator account?

    Hello Antonio,

    You could use option 5 in the tutorial below to enable the built-in Administrator account at boot.

    Enable or Disable Elevated Administrator account in Windows 10

    Afterwards, you can sign in to this built-in Administrator account, and make your account an administrator again.
