second time, stuck in safe mode, airplane mode, asks for password

I login with PIN, I went to change to AHCI from IDE, web says set to boot in safe minimal, now I cant login cause I quess it needs networkng on and its off.

Last time I wiped and recloned drive. Is there anyway to fix this without doing that again, and how to get AHCI in safe mode with netwroink, See this has just cost me another 3 hours of time. On the second day now,
I will just do it again if I have to,

ok, I found out you can hold shift key down, mouse tell it to restart, ou can use startup options and select safe mode with networking, but I never get rid of airplane mode. I may try next to rest this PC
IMO, none of this should be happening, if I tell it safe mode with networking why does it say airplane mode.
Well for some reason this website wont accept a 2mb file of a blue screen with white letters of a start menu

All I wanted to do was change ide to ahci
Ok, I try the reset, keep files, it wants an unknown password
no good, any password I use is my MS web password, maybe it wants a local password
SO move on to reset everything, option is just remove my files, will that solve the password thing?
OR several hours of fully clean drive/...

ALl I wanted to do was fix my boat's nav PC, old mb fried, maybe rusted. And cloning old IDE drive to a new SSD, and look at all the trouble, now on second day, hours of time too from prior days of copying files, I had it working yesterday until I wanted AHCI drivers. Poop., and all the prior days wasted, like they never happened.

supposedly someone said this can reset the password, dont know
    Hiren's BootCD 15.2 | Hiren's BootCD PE

    All those solutions are nothing..
I have faced the same problem and i tried all possible of that..eventhough most of them are not applicable. .
It is so silly to rell a user to login to windows to solve a problem while his problem is that he can't login to windows. !
The only way is to use a HBCD (google it) ..download the Iso file and burn it on a usb stick then boot from usb.. after it loads..in security. .you will find tools to reset windows password. .
This is the only solution ..and all answers from technical staff won't help you..trust me.
    All the best.

Stuck in a reset loop claiming to need extra internet files, so I say yes, and t reboots, doen this 3 times, so the RESET software is broken, poorly programed maybe. I am getting real tired of this, just going to clone it again.

    Go ahead and howl hysterically.

I found you can escape the loop by hitting reset 3 times, then I found it has setup a defaultuser(0) which is a mistake

but when I select safe mode with networking it says cant do that in setup since it has not finished setting up, so it fails

But there is a password changer utlity here

    For safe mode you can:
    a) boot into safe mode before logon
    b) boot into safe mode after logon

For networking / wifi problems see if you can boot into safe mode first.

    1) See if you can make a fresh boot into safe mode with networking
Boot into Safe Mode on Windows 10

    2) Do not logon
    3) In the right lower corner click on the network icon
    4) Select a Wifi network
    5) Once connected to Wifi > logon to Windows

For password problems you may be able to use Ubuntu / Linux.

It is a desktop with a wired ethernet cable.
The problem was it always came up in safe mode minimal, and kept wanting an unknown password, my MS web password did not work.

I totally gave up trying to clone my old drive.
I downloaded win10, used media creation tool to install, so I have 20H2
    https://www.computerworld.com/article/3586817/microsoft-launches-its-second-update-rerun-windows-10-20h2.html
    .
It is activated with a digital license to my account, I made SURE to have bios set to AHCI, it really is much faster than IDE.

It is really running solid for the moment, now I have top reinstall everything

This has been super frustrating. Posting to you from it now. At least MS has made new installs or total reinstalls work, but resets not for me.

I looked into cloning and tried Macrium, but it could not resize the drive, see my ssd is 500mb and the IDE is 1gb.

So I had tried Acronis, and it failed badly, quit responding.

Then I found a winner in EaseUS, seamless easy, resizes on its own.Positively painless, and it did boot aftewards, but my attempts to switch from IDE to AHCI failed miserably. and free for home use, no time limits.
